About Proof Scrutiny

My name is Stephanie Bennett and Proof Scrutiny is my business. I am a fully qualified freelance proofreader who can support you in ensuring that whatever written material you produce creates the right impression for your target audience.

Trained by The Publishing Training Centre I am also an Associate Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP) and have an honours degree in English-based subjects.

I have over 20 years commercial experience working in catering, manufacturing and also the leisure industry. My focus has been in procurement, with over 10 years in strategic procurement. I hold a Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management and have plenty of knowledge and experience in writing tender documents and service level agreements, as well as checking product specifications and contracts. All of these are areas where attention to detail is critical.

As well as a freelance proofreader I am also a qualified EFL teacher which has given me the ability to understand the material created by writers whose first language is not English.
